¤ L-glutamine is involved in a number of metabolic processes. It is particularly concentrated in our muscles which use more l-glutamine when under exercise-induced stress.
¤ L-glutamine is essential for protein synthesis (anabolism) and for the production of glycogen. It is also the main source of energy for intestinal mucosal cells and for nucleotide synthesis by lymphocytes. In addition, l-glutamine is the precursor of the neurotransmitters gamma amino butyric acid (GABA) and glutamic acid.
