Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) is made up of a combination of proteins and a chain of amino acids extracted from whey or ‘lactoserum'. A new high-tech process, Cross Flow Microfiltration, enables an isolate to be extracted from whey which contains over 90% protein, 99% of which is completely undenatured. All the important sub-fractions are retained in their natural ratios while fat and lactose are almost eliminated. This slow, gentle, natural, non-chemical filtration technique protects the integrity and biological action of the proteins. Our WPI is virtually free of carbohydrates (0.45g per 20g) and fat (0.9g per 20g), and also contains an exceptional, unique percentage of lactoferrin (392mg per 20g WPI) and glycomacropeptides (3.5g per 20g).
Most commercially-available whey proteins no longer contain lactoferrin because of the extraction processes employed. Lactoferrin is a powerful antioxidant which also has outstanding immuno-stimulant, anti-viral and anti-microbial properties.
