Jobelyn® is a traditional yet innovative formulation made from the tropical plants Hibiscus sabdariffa, Soghum bicolor and Gongronema latifolium. It is widely used in Nigeria to normalize the blood, by stimulating production of hematocrites (red blood cells) and by maintaining the integrity of lymphocytes (white blood cells) even in the presence of viral or bacterial infections.
Jobelyn® is co-produced by two companies, American and Nigerian, each providing strengths in terms of research and development, laboratory and clinical evaluation, standardisation, quality control, qualification and certification of raw materials.
Jobelyn® does not attack diseases directly but stimulates the body's own natural defences. It helps eliminate toxins, restores blood and cell equilibrium and stimulates the appetite. Jobelyn® is supported by numerous in vitro, animal and clinical studies conducted at the Universities of Lagos and Benin. Some of these suggest that Jobelyn is so effective at increasing red blood cells it could be used as a substitute for blood transfusions. Jobelyn® is widely used to treat pernicious anaemia and anaemia associated with several serious diseases. Used as a geriatric tonic, it helps elderly people produce new cells to replace those lost as a result of infection, poor nutrition or other health problems.
The extraordinary results associated with taking Jobelyn® have contributed to its commercial success throughout the whole of Western Africa. These early results, which must now be confirmed by further studies, are beginning to attract scientific interest in the developed world.
