The result of many years’ research, Keranat™ is a new dietary supplement formulated to care for your hair and scalp, perfect for weak or thinning hair.

This unique synergy is formulated from a patented complex of 4 exceptional plant extracts obtained from millet, sunflower, wheat and rosemary. Promoted by clinical studies, these plants have been chosen for their content of bioactive compounds, including miliacin and ceramides, in order to restore softness, lightness and vitality to lifeless hair. To maximise its effect, they are combined with zinc and biotin both of which help to maintain normal hair.

What is in Keranat™, the gold-standard hair care supplement?

Keranat™ combines, in a single formulation, the best natural ingredients for restoring shine and vigour to dull, brittle hair:

  • millet oil. Well-known to those with a gluten intolerance, this grain has the specific feature of containing miliacin, a triterpenoid acclaimed by eyelash, eyebrow and scalp experts. Researchers are currently working to clarify the way in which it interacts with keratinocytes (keratin-producing cells) (1).
  • sunflower oil and extract of wheat grain: these two plants rich in fatty acids have a high concentration of ceramides (2). Naturally present in skin, including the scalp, these ‘polar’ lipids can be thought of as the cement between skin cells. They are also present in the hair cuticle, its protective and structural outer layer, where they help give the hair shaft better definition, and make it appear more ‘sheathed’, and shinier (3-4).
  • extract of rosemary: an age-old medicinal plant, rosemary is popular for its purifying and stimulating properties. Its specific affinity with the hair bulb helps makes hair shiny and radiant while supporting the growth of existing hair shafts (5).

The anti-hair loss supplement Keranat™ also contains 3 targeted vitamins and minerals for a synergistic effect:

  • zinc: this trace-element plays a role in maintaining normal hair (by, in particular, affecting the synthesis of collagen and keratin) (6).
  • biotin: also known as vitamin B8 or vitamin H, biotin too, helps to maintain normal hair (7).
  • vitamin B6: this supports normal energy metabolism by facilitating the absorption of certain nutrients (8).

5 good reasons to take care of your hair with Keranat™

  • carefully-selected phytonutrients: the four plants in Keranat™ bring together 100% natural, scientifically-recognised active principles, which address all aspects of the hair, from the root to the tip.
  • all-in-one formulation with a convenient dose: the ceramides and miliacin are reinforced by the zinc-biotin-B6 trio, producing exceptional synergy, with the whole combination taken in a single, daily dose.
  • clinically-proven benefits: the effects of Keranat™ on the health and beauty of the hair are supported by multiple clinical studies.
  • optimal bioavailability: for even greater efficacy, Keranat™ contains phospholipids. These form vesicles around the miliacin, providing it with better protection as it passes through the stomach (9), thus maximising its absorption in the gut.
  • an all-round effect: Keranat™ works just as well for dull, lifeless hair as it does for weak, brittle hair that needs an injection of vigour.

Major causes of hair loss

The medical term for hair loss is alopecia , with androgenetic alopecia the most common form. Though it remains poorly understood, it’s thought this scalp abnormality is essentially the result of both genetic and hormonal factors (10).

Abnormal hair loss sometimes occurs in other contexts such as medical treatment, an auto-immune disorder (autoimmune alopecia) or severe physical or psychological stress (telogen effluvium) (11).

In addition, slight, recurrent hair loss lasting between 4 and 6 weeks, is sometimes seen as the seasons change (12). Fortunately, this is not pathological in nature.

What can you do to prevent hair loss?

While certain factors are hard to control, there are some every day steps you can take to help prevent hair loss and even slow down hair loss that’s already begun.

  • don’t mistreat your hair. The hair shaft can be traumatised by styling techniques involving intense heat or excessive pulling. So avoid using a very hot hair dryer, straighteners or curling tongs, as well as blow-drying, curlers or elastic bands. Leave your hair natural whenever possible and dry it at a lower temperature, holding the hairdryer 15cm away from your scalp (13) ;
  • adopt good brushing habits. Combing your hair, ideally morning and night, will get rid of any growth-suppressing impurities and restore volume, shine and suppleness to the hair. Take one strand at a time, first untangling the ends (holding the hair halfway up the strand), and finishing at the roots;
  • massage your scalp. When you wash your hair, use a circular motion to give your scalp a fingertip massage, to stimulate microcirculation and boost hair regrowth (14) ;
  • eat a plant-based diet. For healthy hair, the hair bulb needs proper nourishment and blood supply. Increase your intake of highly-coloured fruits and vegetables, key sources of antioxidants (15).
