GLP-1 Booster Formula is a dietary supplement designed to naturally support the production of GLP-1, a hormone known to reduce appetite and blood sugar levels.
It is therefore an innovative, effective and healthy solution for promoting lasting weight loss.
The supplement is classified in our slimming and weight loss product category.
Composition and benefits of this natural supplement to increase GLP-1
What is the hormone GLP-1 and what is it used for?
GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) is a hormone secreted by L cells, mainly in the intestine, which:
- acts on the brain to promote a feeling of satiety and reduce hunger, thereby helping to control calorie intake and weight;
- increases the release of insulin to regulate blood sugar levels when they become too high;
- reduces glucagon secretion to limit glucose production; and
- slows gastric emptying (the passage of food from the stomach to the small intestine) to avoid blood sugar peaks.
The role of this hormone in regulating appetite makes it a key element in weight-loss therapies.
In addition, reduced levels of GLP-1 are frequently observed in people with type 2 diabetes.
A natural synergy of 4 plant extracts and 1 mineral
GLP-1 Booster Formula combines 5 natural ingredients linked to the stimulation of GLP-1 production and the reduction of glycaemia and weight:
- Metabolaid®, a patented blend of Hibiscus sabdariffa and Aloysia citrodora: Metabolaid® is a patented complex of extracts of hibiscus flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa) and lemon verbena leaf (Aloysia citrodora). The combination of Metabolaid®'s active compounds, principally anthocyanins from hibiscus and verbascoside from lemon verbena, has a synergistic effect on the activation of AMPK, which promotes the secretion of GLP-1 by L cells. This combination even multiplies the effect of the individual extracts by more than 6. Metabolaid® has been the subject of 7 clinical studies dedicated to its effects on stimulating GLP-1 production (with an observed increase of 61.3% compared with the placebo group), reducing appetite (with an observed reduction in hunger of 56%, from 15 days of intake, then 85% after 60 days), weight loss (with an observed loss of 3.2% in one month), reduction in body fat (with an observed reduction of 3.4% in one month) and waist circumference (with an observed reduction of 2% in one month), maintenance of healthy blood pressure and heart rate, and balance of cholesterol and triglycerides (1-9);
- green tea extract, Camellia sinensis, rich in EGCG: green tea helps to reduce appetite by modulating hunger hormones (such as ghrelin), helps to maintain normal blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity and slowing the absorption of carbohydrates, and helps to control weight by stimulating metabolism and fat burning. In addition, one of its key active ingredients, EGCG, has been shown to increase GLP-1 production, and therefore satiety, by stimulating intestinal cells and modulating signalling pathways such as AMPK, while improving glucose metabolism (10-11);
- berberine from Berberis vulgaris root extract (standardised to 97%): berberine is being studied for its potential ability to stimulate GLP-1 production by activating AMPK, modulating the microbiota (which activates the production of saturated fatty acids that facilitate GLP-1 production) and inhibiting DPP-4 (an enzyme that breaks down GLP-1). Berberine from Berberis vulgaris also helps to maintain normal blood sugar levels by promoting insulin sensitivity, reducing glucose production by the liver and stimulating its use by cells. It also helps to reduce cholesterol by promoting the elimination of LDL by the liver and reducing the absorption of lipids in the intestine (12-16);
- cinnamon extract Cinnamomum zeylanicum 10:1: cinnamon helps maintain normal blood sugar levels thanks to its bioactive components (such as cinnamaldehyde), which improve insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism. These compounds are also thought to stimulate intestinal cell receptors and modulate intestinal microbiota, thereby promoting the release of GLP-1. Randomised clinical trials have also studied the ability of cinnamon to reduce ghrelin peaks (17-18);
- chromium (in the form of chromium picolinate): chromium helps to maintain normal blood sugar levels by increasing the sensitivity of cells to insulin, thereby speeding up cellular uptake of glucose and reducing blood sugar levels. We have chosen chromium picolinate because it is one of the most bioavailable forms and therefore the most effective for the body (19).
The 5 strong points of our supplement for satiety and weight loss
This slimming food supplement has 5 strong points:
- its 100% natural, well-tolerated composition: our formula is a natural alternative to synthetic drug treatments called GLP-1 receptor agonists, which contain a chemically modified version of the hormone. Our natural supplement is much better tolerated than these drugs, which have many undesirable side-effects (eating disorders, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, pancreatitis, etc.);
- its innovative mechanism of action: slimming supplements based on the stimulation of this appetite-suppressant hormone are still quite rare on the market;
- its unique synergy of active ingredients: this formula is the result of a unique combination of natural active ingredients rigorously selected for their ability to work together on several complementary fronts (satiety, lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, etc.);
- its clinically validated, award-winning flagship ingredient: the benefits of the centrepiece of our product, the patented Metabolaid® blend, are not simply marketing promises but are based on no fewer than 7 human clinical studies with clear, indisputable results. What's more, the ingredient has won numerous awards, including ‘Ingredient of the Year’ at the NutraIngredients Awards 2020 and 2023 in the 'Weight Management' category, and winner of the Ingredient Idol 2023;
- its plant-based capsules and total absence of excipients: the supplement is packaged in 100% plant-based capsules made from hypromellose (HPMC) and contains absolutely no excipients.
